Your members are paying for the room
In a coworking space the workplace is the product. A member choosing between a day pass and a monthly desk notices a sticky table, a full recycling bin or a meeting room that still smells of yesterday’s lunch, and that first look shapes whether they come back. Cleaning here is part of hospitality, not just upkeep.
Gilroy Janitorial plans cleaning for shared workplaces of any size, from a few rented desks above a shop to a full floor of private offices. Shared workspace in Gilroy ranges from older storefront buildings along Monterey Street downtown to executive suites in the business parks near the freeway. We walk the space with the community manager, mark which rooms members book and which ones stay open to everyone, and build a written plan around the hours your doors are open.
Open desks and hot-desking
When a desk belongs to whoever arrives first, it needs to look untouched each morning. The crew clears loose trash, wipes each desktop from edge to edge, and cleans monitor arms, desk lamps and the chair arms and seat backs that every member grips. Under-desk areas are vacuumed, cords are left where they lie, and chairs are pushed in so the room looks ordered when the first member walks through the door.
Dedicated desks get the same surface care around whatever the member leaves out. Laptops, notebooks and personal items stay exactly in place, and papers are never stacked, moved or read.
Offices, booths, meeting rooms and restrooms
Locked private offices are cleaned on the schedule the member or your team agrees, with trash and recycling emptied, surfaces dusted around belongings and floors vacuumed or mopped. Phone booths are small, enclosed and used all day, so the glass, the seat, the small shelf and the door handle are wiped on every pass.
Conference rooms carry a lot of the brand. Whiteboards are wiped clean unless a note asks the crew to save them, markers are lined up in the tray, the table and chairs are wiped, and the screen and remote are dusted. Any studio or recording room is dusted and vacuumed with the equipment left untouched.
Restrooms and the front entry are what a guest sees first and last. Each toilet, sink and stall partition is sanitized, mirrors and the entry glass are cleared of smudges, and the welcome mat is vacuumed and the floor beneath it mopped, so a visitor arriving for a meeting with a member walks into a space that feels well kept.
The coffee bar, kitchen and lounge
The shared kitchen tells members how the whole space is run. Counters, the sink, cabinet fronts, the outside of the coffee machine and the refrigerator handle are cleaned, and the microwave is wiped inside and out. Lounge sofas are vacuumed, coffee tables wiped and throw pillows straightened.
Coffee, tea, snacks and drinks can be handled too. With breakroom and pantry restocking added, the coffee bar stays stocked. Paper towels, hand soap, toilet paper and bin liners are refilled from janitorial supplies we deliver, or from the cases already in your storage closet.
Daytime touch-ups while members work
A space that hosts a morning workshop and an afternoon networking event can look tired well before closing. A day porter can work through the floor during open hours, resetting meeting rooms between bookings, emptying kitchen bins, refilling restroom dispensers and giving the coffee counter a fresh wipe once the first wave of members has filled their cups. After an event, the porter or a scheduled crew puts the chairs and tables back in their usual layout.
Nightly or several-times-weekly office cleaning then handles the full restroom sanitation, floor work and trash removal once members have gone home.
Floors that hold up to rolling chairs
Shared offices in older downtown buildings can mix carpet tile, wood-look vinyl plank and tile entries. Carpet lanes from the door to the kitchen and around the open desks wear first, so they can go on a hot-water extraction cycle through our carpet cleaning team. Hard floors get routine mopping plus periodic scrubbing, and VCT can be stripped and refinished over a weekend while the space is closed.
Getting your coworking space on the schedule
Tell us how many desks and offices you run, your open hours and any event nights through the contact page. We will tour the space, put the room-by-room plan in writing and send a quote. Cleaners going into a building full of members’ laptops and paperwork are background-checked, and a supervisor comes back for quality inspections and reports the results to the community manager.
A few useful answers
Common questions
Is there cleaning during open hours, with members at their desks?
Yes. A day porter handles quiet tasks during open hours, such as resetting meeting rooms and refilling the restrooms, and the louder vacuuming and floor work is left for after closing.
Will cleaners touch members’ laptops or papers?
No. Desks are wiped around anything left out, and laptops, notebooks and documents stay exactly where the member left them.
How often should a shared office be cleaned?
It follows how many members come in each day and how many events you host. A floor full of daily members fits nightly weekday service, while a few rented desks can run on two or three visits a week, and the walkthrough sets the count.
Who refills the coffee, tea and snacks?
We can. Our pantry restocking service brings in and shelves coffee, tea, snacks and drinks, while the cleaning visit takes care of the counter, sink and machine exterior.
Do you reset rooms after evening events?
Yes. After a workshop or meetup, chairs and tables go back to the usual layout, trash and recycling come out, and the kitchen and restrooms are cleaned before members return.
