Gilroy’s clubs and studios

Big-box clubs keep long hours, some opening before dawn and some staying open through the night. Smaller studios for yoga, cycling, boxing and strength coaching fill storefronts around town, and offices and apartment complexes keep fitness rooms of their own.

Every one of these rooms takes hard use from bodies and hands, and our job is to have each of them fresh before the next session starts.

Showers, lockers and restrooms

The locker room is where a club earns or loses a renewal. Our crews start there, scrubbing shower walls and pans, pulling hair from drains, working soap scum off tile and grout, and wiping shower valves, soap dispensers and the doors or curtains.

Sinks, toilets, urinals and stall partitions are cleaned and disinfected, mirrors and vanities are polished, and dispensers get fresh towels, soap and can liners, from supplies we provide or your own. Benches, locker handles, hair dryers and the scale get a wipe, bins are emptied, and the tile is squeegeed and dried before we move on, so the walk to the shower stays dry.

The workout floor and every touchpoint

Out on the floor, the checklist follows the equipment. Console screens and buttons on treadmills, ellipticals and rowers, the grips on cable stations, pull-up bars and handles, every seat and back pad, and the pins members pull to change the weight are wiped and disinfected. Kettlebells and dumbbells are cleaned by hand, racks are wiped of chalk and benches are done on every side.

Rubber tiles and rolled rubber hold sweat and chalk in their texture, so they are vacuumed and then damp-mopped with a neutral cleaner suited to rubber, with close attention to the edges under racks and around machine bases. Yoga and stretching mats are wiped, turf lanes are vacuumed, and vinyl or tile in cardio areas goes on a scrubbing and burnishing cycle through commercial floor care.

Studios, glass, front desk and staff spaces

Group fitness rooms are reset when the evening schedule ends. The mirror wall is cleaned top to bottom, bikes, barres, step platforms and plyo boxes are wiped, speakers and shelves are dusted, and the floor is cleaned for its surface.

Glass doors and windows at the entry and around the studios are cleaned streak-free. At the front desk, the check-in counter, scanners, the retail case and lobby seating are wiped down. Staff rooms, the manager’s office and coaching desks share the route, with counters, appliances, tables and trash handled.

Scheduled around your members

When the club closes overnight, we clean after the last member leaves and finish ahead of the first early arrival. Studios are cleaned after the final class of the evening, ready for the morning lineup.

Clubs that stay open through the night are cleaned in sections. Locker rooms are done one at a time with signs at the door, the floor is worked in zones while members train in the rest, and the deep work goes to the quietest hours, so the club never has to close for cleaning.

When the after-work crowd fills the floor, a day porter can restock restrooms, wipe down busy equipment and dry locker room floors until the rush passes.

From boutique studios to therapy gyms

We clean big-box and 24-hour clubs, along with the boutique studios Gilroy members choose for yoga, indoor cycling, pilates, CrossFit, climbing and martial arts. Mats, rigs, bikes, climbing walls and padded floors each get their own step on a checklist written for your space.

Fitness rooms in office buildings and apartment communities are added to the building’s janitorial services visits. Physical therapy and adaptive fitness gyms have treatment tables, parallel bars and therapy machines cleaned with care, and disinfection and sanitizing can be added to any routine.

What goes into a gym cleaning price

A gym’s price comes from its size and its traffic: square footage, visits per week, how many locker rooms and showers you have, the number of studios, whether you are open around the clock, the floor types and any porter hours.

We walk the club at a quiet hour and price it area by area. Note your hours and anything you want watched in Property notes on the quote form.

A few useful answers

Common questions

Do you have to close our 24-hour club to clean it?

No. We clean in sections overnight, one locker room or floor zone at a time with signs posted, and members keep using the rest of the club.

Do you wipe down the weight machines and cardio equipment?

Yes. Consoles, grips, handles, seat and back pads, weight pins, benches, racks and dumbbells are wiped and disinfected on every visit.

What keeps the locker room tile dry between visits?

Each visit ends with the tile squeegeed toward the drains and dried, and a day porter can repeat that pass through the evening rush.

Can you clean a small yoga or pilates studio?

Yes. Small studios are cleaned after the final class, with mirrors, mats, props, reformers and floors reset for the morning.

Do you clean physical therapy gyms?

Yes. Treatment tables, parallel bars, exercise machines, waiting areas and restrooms are cleaned after your last appointment of the day.
